In the middle of posting on Instagram, while grocery shopping, I absent-mindedly eye a container of hummus from across the aisle. I walk over, look it over, and think, why not! I’ll take it home and Netflix and chill tonight.

When I get home, I pry open the lid, and find a gray blob staring back at me -- a wave of “bean smell" hits my nose. Skeptical, yet determined to EAT; I begin feeding myself mouthfuls of mushy sawdust, over and over again, each bite, more excruciating than the last. I knew the hummus looked suspect, but; I put it in my mouth anyway.

Do you have the patience to observe it’s transformation from hard, green flesh, to yellow, spotted, plump ripeness? Don’t eat green bananas unless you like it hard. I mean… some do like it hard. Who. am . I. to . judge?

What I’m saying is: kindly (or adamantly) reject what you don’t like. Simple! Do not put it in your mouth! Expand your palate. Appreciate the soft crunch of toasted cashews and the silky, smooth, body of a cashew milk.

Lust after the sweet, pulpy, intoxicating mango. It is no surprise that this fruit has aphrodisiac qualities. Let their juices roll down your hands as you cut into their ripe flesh. Its meat is bursting with flavor and nutrients.

And the soursop! Have you ever had a soursop?! Throw grammar, spelling, and punctuation out the window because

The flavor is a soul-soothing blend of banana, strawberries, and pineapple, wrapped in a green skin, similar to avocado skin but with spiky (not sharp) bumps.

And dragon fruit! Cut into them and discover a fruit that is destined smoothie bowl or an oil painting.

Ooo, the pink guava makes my mouth water! It is a highly fragrant, thick, pulpy fruit. When guavas, are ripe, you can smell the strawberry, pear, floral fragrant form a mile away.
